If you’re in search of some inspiration where indoor activities are concerned, here are just a couple of suggestions from the Concept Care team. Enjoy!

We recently said goodbye to a cold snap but, as winter has only really just begun, you can bet that we’ve got a lot more cold weather coming our way before we make it to springtime.

This inevitably means that we’re all going to be spending a bit more time indoors so that we can stay warm and safe, no matter what the weather has to throw at us.

But just because we’re stuck inside doesn’t mean that we can’t have fun and, in fact, there are all sorts of ways we can keep ourselves well entertained until the days start to lengthen and the sun returns.

If you’re in search of some inspiration where indoor activities are concerned, here are just a couple of suggestions from the Concept Care team. Which of these will you put at the top of your to-do list?

Get crafty

There are all sorts of ways in which you can get the creative juices flowing, whether you want to get the knitting needles out and whip up some last-minute Christmas presents, fancy trying your hand at calligraphy and producing some beautifully hand-written letters for loved ones or if you’re keen to start writing some poetry.

Dark winter days and nights are perfect for learning new artistic skills and trying something you perhaps haven’t done before.

Hit the kitchen

Just because the weather’s cold and miserable and you can’t go to your favourite restaurants as easily doesn’t mean you have to give up on tasty food! What about researching some recipes online to see if there’s something special you could make in the lead-up to Christmas and beyond?

Make it a rule that each recipe has to include an ingredient you’ve not tried before or perhaps a skill you’d like to learn and you’ll be applying for Masterchef before you know it!

Start meditating

The festive season and the start of a new year is exciting, of course, but it can also be a little overwhelming and very hectic. Now’s the perfect time to try your hand at meditation and mindfulness, helping to anchor yourself in the present moment through breathing exercises, with the aim being to quieten your mind and bring some peace and calm back to your life.

Practise self-care

Self-care comes in many forms and the key is to find out what it means for you. This could be anything from making sure you get eight hours sleep a night to doing some skincare, eating your favourite foods, indulging in your favourite books, taking long hot baths or something else.

Find what self-care means to you and you’ll emerge from your winter cocoon come spring glowing from head to toe!

Take a trip down memory lane

What could be better than getting the photo books out at winter time? There are hours of fun to be had poring over the pages, reminiscing with friends and family, and bringing to mind all those wonderful memories that you’ve made over the years. You’re sure to be inspired to make some more – and take lots of other photos as you go.
