As we continue to grow, we’re looking for dedicated Children’s Home Support Workers to join our residential service, playing a vital role in supporting children and young people in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. This role involves working 12-hour shifts, providing consistent 1:1 and team-based support, promoting independence, emotional wellbeing, and daily living skills.

About the Role
As a Children’s Home Support Worker, you will support children and young people with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and challenging behaviour in a residential setting in Welwyn Garden City. Working 12-hour shifts, you’ll provide consistent, person-centred care on a 1:1 basis and as part of a team, helping to promote independence, emotional wellbeing, and daily living skills. You’ll play a key role in creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment, supporting young people with their routines, activities, and development while following care plans and behaviour support strategies.
Duties
- Provide consistent, high‑quality care and support to children and young people with LD and Autism
- Support young people who may present with challenging behaviour, using positive behaviour support approaches
- Work 1:1 and as part of a team during 12‑hour shifts
- Promote independence, emotional wellbeing and daily living skills
- Build trusted, professional relationships with young people
- Support with education, activities, appointments and community access
- Follow care plans, risk assessments and behaviour management strategies
- Maintain accurate daily records and reports
- Ensure a safe, structured and nurturing environment in line with Ofsted requirements

About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experience supporting children or young people with LD, Autism and/or challenging behaviour
- Ability to work 12‑hour shifts, including nights and weekends
- Calm, patient and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Right to work in the UK
